Joe Swinburne

Joe Optimus Health Physio Richmond

Joe graduated from AUT in Auckland, New Zealand in 2008.  With a passion for sports he jumped straight into a private practice specialising in sports injuries; a high percentage of these being Rugby Union and League related.

Joe worked with the Samoan Rugby League and 7’s team while they were training in NZ.  He also did a few seasons with the Waitakere Soccer Club.

Joe has been working at Optimus for 6 months now and has been the physio for a variety of our clubs, covering games as and when required.  These include Box Hill Rugby Club, Brighton Grammar Rugby, Quins Rugby, Black Rock Football Club and the Melbourne Unicorns Rugby Club.

Joe has completed further study and has a diploma of Acupuncture.  His favorite injuries to treat are backs, necks and shoulders.  He loves a complicated shoulder injury, from initial diagnosis through to end stage rehabilitation.

He runs our lower limb rehabilitation group on a Wednesday night.

In his spare time he enjoys a game of cricket and a round of golf.
