Jake graduated with an advanced diploma of Sports Therapy from the Australian College of Sports Therapy in 2012, spending his final year of studying working with the Melbourne Storm under 20s as an assistant trainer gaining valuable experience with injury assessment, rehabilitation & travelling away with teams, all with arguably one of the most professional clubs in Australia.
Jake is currently working for the Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club with the under 18s team. For the last two years Jake has been head trainer and rehabilitation coach, providing injury assessment, strapping and game day medic aswell as working closely alongside the strength & conditioning coach implementing specific injury prevention and rehabilitation programs for the players.
Jake also works with the Sunbury United Rugby League team in the Victorian Rugby League competition as the head trainer with the first & reserve grade teams.
Jake is part of the soft tissue team with the Melbourne Rebels Super 15 team providing weekly soft tissue treatments to the players.
He has a keen interest in injury prevention programming as well as injury rehabilitation from the acute phase to return to play/activity. Apart from running & rugby injuries he also has a keen interest in upper limb injuries, neck & jaw pain as well as natural treatment for headaches.
In his spare time when not continuing further study, Jake enjoys keeping fit in the gym & road cycling in summer, while getting breakfast and coffee at the many cafes in Melbourne.
